Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply when you access or use the OKBogey website, Android application or related services. By using OKBogey, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What OKBogey provides

OKBogey is a golf round-planning and scoring application. It helps golfers set a target score, distribute that target across a course as a Target Par, record scores, review previous rounds and, where available, use personalised analysis and Personal Stroke Index features.

OKBogey is a planning and scoring aid. It is not an official handicap authority, official competition scoring system, golf-course authority or substitute for the Rules of Golf. Any handicap-related or performance information shown by OKBogey is for the app's planning and analysis features unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate information, maintaining access to the email address or sign-in method connected to your account, and taking reasonable steps to keep your account secure. You must not access another user's account or data without permission.

OKBogey may use one-time email codes, Google Sign-In or other supported authentication methods. You are responsible for activity carried out through your authenticated account unless the activity results from a security failure for which OKBogey is legally responsible.

You must not misuse OKBogey. In particular, you must not:

Free service and advertising

OKBogey may offer a free tier supported by advertising and subject to feature or usage limits. Advertising may be provided by Google or other advertising providers and is subject to the privacy and consent choices described in the Privacy Policy. OKBogey may change reasonable free-tier limits, ad placements or included features as the service develops.

OKBogey+ subscriptions

OKBogey+ is a paid entitlement that may provide features such as enhanced analysis, personalised Target Par or Personal Stroke Index features, higher usage limits and an ad-free experience. The exact features included may change over time, but any material change will remain subject to applicable consumer law.

Android subscriptions are sold through Google Play. The price, billing period, any introductory offer or trial, and other purchase terms shown by Google Play at checkout form part of your purchase. Unless Google Play states otherwise, a subscription renews automatically for the selected billing period until cancelled.

You can manage or cancel a Google Play subscription through Google Play. Cancellation normally stops future renewal and access continues until the end of the already-paid billing period, subject to Google Play's policies and any rights you have under applicable law. Refunds are handled in accordance with Google Play's refund processes, OKBogey's obligations and applicable consumer law.

Deleting your OKBogey account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. If you want to stop future charges, cancel the subscription through Google Play as well as deleting your OKBogey account.

An eligible Google Play purchase may be restored or linked to an OKBogey account using purchase information supplied by Google Play. OKBogey may ask you to confirm a restore or account-linking action where appropriate. A purchase cannot be used to bypass entitlement rules or be shared between unrelated accounts unless OKBogey explicitly allows it.

Promotional and testing access

OKBogey may occasionally provide complimentary, promotional, tester or lifetime entitlements. Unless the specific offer states otherwise, these entitlements have no cash value, cannot be transferred or resold, and may be subject to reasonable eligibility or anti-abuse checks. A genuinely described lifetime entitlement means access for the lifetime of the relevant OKBogey service or feature, not the lifetime of an individual person or device.

Course, tee and scoring information

Course, tee, rating, slope, yardage, par, Stroke Index and hole information may come from third-party data sources, golf clubs or user-submitted corrections. OKBogey aims to present this information accurately but cannot guarantee that every course record is complete, current or suitable for competition use. Check official club or governing-body information where accuracy is important.

If you submit course corrections or other factual golf-course information, you give OKBogey permission to store, review, combine, edit and use that submission for the purpose of maintaining and improving the course catalogue.

Your round data

You retain responsibility for the golf and profile information you enter. You give OKBogey the permissions reasonably necessary to host, process, calculate, display and back up that information so the service can work. Account deletion is available as described in the Privacy Policy and on the Delete Account page.

Intellectual property

The OKBogey name, branding, software, interface, original written content and service design are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of OKBogey's intellectual property to you. Third-party course data, trademarks and other third-party material remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

Availability and changes

OKBogey may be updated, improved or changed as the service develops. Features may be added, modified or removed, and third-party services may affect availability. OKBogey may suspend access where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, abuse prevention or legal compliance.

If a paid feature is materially changed in a way that affects your statutory rights, these terms do not remove any remedy you are entitled to under applicable consumer law.

Suspension and termination

OKBogey may restrict or suspend an account that materially breaches these terms, threatens the security or operation of the service, or is used for fraud or unlawful activity. Where reasonable and lawful, OKBogey will take account of the seriousness of the issue before restricting access.

You can stop using OKBogey at any time and can delete your account using the available account-deletion process. Subscription cancellation is separate from account deletion as explained above.

Warranty and liability

OKBogey is provided using reasonable care and skill, but the service depends on software, networks and third-party providers and may occasionally be unavailable or contain errors. Course and performance information should not be relied on where an official source is required.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, statutory guarantees or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Subject to that, OKBogey is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for losses caused by events outside its reasonable control, or for business losses arising from consumer use of the service.

Privacy

Your use of OKBogey is also subject to the OKBogey Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information, advertising data and account deletion are handled.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer living elsewhere you keep any mandatory protections provided by the law of your country of residence. Nothing in this section removes any right you may have to bring a claim in a court that applicable consumer law allows you to use.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as OKBogey develops, its paid services change or legal requirements change. The latest version and its update date will remain available at okbogey.golf/terms.html. Where a change materially affects an existing paid service, additional notice will be given where required by law.
